YouTube will now let you pay an author to post a message on your live streaming

YouTube has just presented its new Super Chat, a new method for those who perform a live broadcast can obtain a remuneration from their followers. With this new option, if you are watching live streaming now you can pay to post a message in the chat of the retransmission.

Your message will be fixed for five hours, so if you want to say something that is read, get the attention of your favorite channel or YouTube, or just make some kind of announcement, you will only have to pay a small fee to get it.

The beta period has started this afternoon with a small select group of creators. But as YouTube said in its announcement, they have the idea of officially launching the service on January 31. From that date will be available to the creators of 20 countries and their followers from more than 40 countries.

In 2014 YouTube launched an option called Fan Funding, with which users could make disinterested payments to their favorite creators. This feature will disappear next February 28 to be replaced by the Super Chat, a rather more aggressive method to add the incentive to gain visualization.

Fear of competition?

Live broadcasts are the new candy that many tech companies want to eat. Google has been offering them on YouTube for some time, but lately other companies like Facebook with its social network and Instagram are making more noise. However, Facebook announced this morning that it would implement the ability to broadcast live from the browser.

So it seems that YouTube is starting to tighten the competition, and they have decided to move tab to try to make the creators do not change application. The movement is curious, and its effectiveness we will have to evaluate as it is used. Will it really be welcomed by fans or will it become a spammy nest?
