The world of torrent download sites is not as flowery as it used to be, pursued by the entertainment industry, some have completely disappeared as Kickass Torrents and ExtraTorrent , or the old Isohunt. Others are blocked in several countries of the world, as in the case of The Pirate Bay.
But the nature of the Internet is resilient, and for every door that closes another one opens. Some time ago in Genbeta we had recommended Skytorrents , an excellent alternative torrent search engine , but for a few months the domain has also disappeared. That’s how I ended up discovering Zooqle and it has become my favorite torrent site.
In Zooqle there are more than three million verified torrents , and thousands are added every day. More than 160,000 correspond to hundreds of television programs, and there are some 36,000 films. More than 2,200 trackers sharing more than 32 million parts.
On the site there are also games, applications, books, music and anime. Everything is organized very well by categories, and they also have a release calendar with the most recent series and movies, taking advantage of TMDb to show information about the titles.
If you want, you can register on the site to create subscriptions and add content to an RSS feed so you know when there are new torrents of things that interest you.
Zooqle is pretty cool, and although the site does not show advertising banners everywhere, in fact, you’re not going to get one on the home page, every now and then it shows some pop-up window with offers, something you can easily block with tools like uBlock Origin if they bother you.
