$1bn being invested to crack Indian market

Uber to invest £642m into the Indian market to stop sharing economy taxi biz Ola playing the system.

The money will go towards a marketing and advertising campaign. 

President of Uber speaks about what a big market India is for them. Except The USA , India is there biggest market. Other big priorities are China and uberPool.

The money will go towards expanding operations with Uber’s Indian relation.

Taxi hailing companies in China are now worth almost £6bn after receiving a significant investment. Ola is currently valued at £1.54bn this is according to paywall.

AN anonymous Ola financial banker insists this investment won’t work as Ola can fight back because they have lots of money.   Uber has been in trouble with the Indian market with rape accusations coming out from passengers.
