Llandudno has two main beaches and they could not feel more different. If you are still undecided where to go, then here is an easy guide on North Shore vs West Shore.
North Shore Beach: An iconic beach, but it is also the busiest.
The picture postcard one – Positioned just steps from the beach, shops and cafes along The Esplanade as well as Busselton Jetty, it is perfect for a family who want a slice of traditional seaside life.
It is mostly pebbles, so beach shoes are advisable if you plan on paddling. The seaside is also a better option if you’re without wheels, staying in town or just looking to mix the beach with ice cream parlours and arcades and for strolling along its seafront.
Who will like it: First-time visitors, families that want amenities close by. Those who don’t mind the crowds on sunnier days. For the Best Hotel in Llandudno, visit //stgeorgeswales.co.uk
West Shore Beach: Quieter, Sandier and more space.
More peaceful and open with more of a natural feel. The beach itself is better during low tide with more sand to play games, for picnics and long walks.
It can be a welcome respite from the typical weekend crowds just down shore. This is also widely regarded as the best place in town to catch a view of Banderas Bay at sunset.
Top tip: for less day beach-goers, far more space to lay your towel and easier nature walks.
Quick tip
Try to do both – North Shore for the Llandudno buzz you know, then West Shore when your life needs a little slowing down.
